About Lenny Govender

 Born on a farm on the South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal, my art direction career started at the tender age of three. 

My first drawing of farm labourers on a field was executed with crayons on our verandah wall... from then on it was an inner passion for art and design that drove me into Advertising and Design. At school I pursued art as my main subject, and graduated in 1982. From 1983 to 1985 I studied Graphic Design at the Durban University of Technology. My working career started in 1986 with a small design studio (Apple Designs) from which I moved to work in various design and advertising agencies (Kenyon Advertising, Young & Rubicam, Trademark Design, Grey Advertising) before joining Ogilvy in 1998. After leaving Ogilvy, I went freelance and then joined Tequila Advertising and design.
